Visited in Feb 2024. Parking is not secure as garage is not available. Hotel had a fire and they are remodeling so checking lobby breakfast is not set up as good as it could be. Room was average as other holiday inn have updated rooms. Disappointed that hotel website and holiday inn didn't warn me of what was going on.

The only reason it wasn't 5/5 was the renovation post fire. It did not hinder our stay, which was both business and family. Given the tragic mess from a careless smoker, no wonder the signs clearly state and enforce the NO Smoking policy. However, down to the facts. Our upgraded room more than met our expectations for both family and business meetings. Comfortable bed, excellent bath, large rooms and excellent city views, especially at night! (Did I mention it was their penthouse?) The breakfast served was varied and one of the best we've had in any other hotels. It was a surprise that the OJ wasn't watered down and the coffee was delicious. The gals at the bkfst were very pleasant, sociable and efficient. The front desk crew; "Ash" at checkin was fantastic, and "Shemeza" was the most personable young person, and despite her small stature, one should not consider disagreeing with her over hotel policy. That she takes seriously and you will lose! 😉 Renos should be completed soon, so don't let that deter you from booking in. The location is a plus. Close to the train, Stev Ave, and The Comedy Club / Billy's Bar is next door. Excellent service, drinks and food.

Do NOT stay here. Avoid at all costs. The managment at this hotel is absolutely awful. When making my booking it was not made clear that it was non-refundable. I was made aware of this when I called the hotel to remove 1 day from my 3 day booking. They refused despite this change being requesed 3 weeks before my scheduled stay. After many phone calls I was left without any resolution. During my conversations with the owner, which are recorded, he was rude and hung up on me on numerous occasions requiring me to call back relentlesly to try and understand their no refund policy. It is the first time I encoutered a no refund policy when booking a hotel. With the refund for a single night not pausible I called back the following week and asked if they could move my 3 night booking by 1 day as my travel plans had changed. They also refused this request despite it still being 3 nights. After refusing that request, they called me back shortly after and informed me that I was no longer welcome on the property and that they would be keeping my non-refundable $550 payment for my stay. They justified this by telling me that I had called them too many times which they deemed to be harrassment. At the end of the day I am out $550 and they will not allow me to stay in the hotel. Crooks! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Had a relaxing two night stay at the Inn few days ago , Holiday Inn all way my first choice when I travel solo , for their inexpensive room price and location and it is not your elegant or extravaganza resort , but very popular family friendly place , good location close to LRT , very smooth check in ( I am a IHG member for long time ) friendly front staff , room with city view very clean and comfortable bedding , it is a bonus to have a nice Jetted Tub in the room , the bathroom very bright not a hair can find and under half hour drive to the Airport ,good spot to stay in Downtown .

Cancelled my reservation after I checked in online earlier that day. I booked the hotel in August and made a payment with credit card. At the airport I received an email to check in online which I did and was even given a room upgrade! It was only when I was waiting for my second flight connection that I got an email to say that my booking was cancelled as they tried to take payment from my card. So was left with nowhere to go when I finally arrived in Calgary. What the hotel did was try to take payment from my old credit card which was on my IHG profile and not the credit I had used for the hotel booking. We had booked trips and we were being picked up near the hotel, so had to rearrange everything! Anyway managed to get wifi on the flight and book somewhere else and the staff there were very helpful! But far from ideal when you have been travelling all day, especially if you are a lone woman. Maybe try contacting customers with a bit of notice when you realise there is an issue (which was easily resolved if you had used the correct card I gave you to make the booking) before just cancelling the booking at a few hours notice and maybe the inconvience caused to everyone would have been avoided!
